Summer is Almost Here

Summer is almost here. The weather is getting warmer here in the Western Slope of Colorado. In a couple weeks the kids will be out of school. Thats when things will get into full swing. We will be beginning to shoot this seasons weddings and high school seniors. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. We will also be kicking off two new programs. As our frequent readers know last week we kicked off our Mom’s with Cameras program training Mom’s and Dad’s how to use their camera in a unique setting.

The second program we will be starting is our
Portraits 2 You program where we bring the studio to you. As parents ourselves we know how much of a chore it can be to get kids to the studio for pictures. Now you don’t have to worry about it. We bring the studio to you where you want it. It could be a favorite park, house, or any other setting you could think of. This program is designed to keep subjects comfortable in their natural environment. It’s about what matters to you. About a place that has a special meaning to our clients. If you live in the Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade areas of Western Colorado you only pay a small sitting fee and the price of prints you order. If you live outside of this area travel charges may be incurred.

For our portrait clients we have a ton of new products available outside of normal prints which include gallery wrap canvas, coasters, metal prints and more. Contact us today for more information and to schedule your session.

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers out there. Seems like most things stem from insomnia. For what ever reason I just could not fall asleep last night. I started thinking and having this internal conversation with myself. Do you ever do that? Whew …. glad I am not the only one :) What I was thinking about was a situation I ran into about a week ago. While I was out shooting last weekend a woman comes up to me totally lost and asks me can you please explain this thing to me because I am lost as she holds up her brand new camera. I knew it was new because it still had the protective wrapper on the LCD screen. So I took a few minutes and explained some of the basic functions of her camera.

I got to thinking about that woman last night. Everyone should be able to operate the basic functions of the camera. I’m not saying that everyone should be Ansel Adams but they should be able to take pictures of the kids little league games or birthday parties. What better time then on Mother’s Day to launch a new program. Moms with Cameras is a program where we show you the basics of camera operation, how to upload your images to your computer, plus tons of other features. The Mom’s with Camera’s program can be done one on one or if you have a group of friends that would like to do it together in the form of a camera party let us know. The cost for this program is $50 which is nothing for a group of friends. It could be another reason for you and your girlfriends to get together and make an event out of it. The program isn’t just for mom’s if you’re a Dad and want to do a similar event with your guy friends we can do that too. Check out the
Mom’s with Camera’s page for info.
